Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Alex and Jackson are two sweet nine-month-old kittens looking for their forever home together!
Alex is a bold adventurer. He will explore new spaces, chase toys, and loves his treats. (He’s also very food-motivated). He’s confident, curious, and full of personality. Jackson is a heartthrob—affectionate, curious, and just as food-driven as his brother. He loves gentle pets and watching the world go by from a cozy perch.
They are energetic kittens and can awake early but when that nap switch turns on, they zonk out for a good sleep.
Both of these handsome guys will take a little time to get settled and comfy, but given time they will be wonderful companions in a calm and loving home.
Alex and Jackson have been living with their sibling and momma in a foster home for the past few weeks. The kittens are thriving in foster care! They eat well, play together, and are comfortable around other cats. They’ve even befriended the resident senior cat! While they still steer clear of the large dog, there’s been no drama—just polite feline boundaries. Although they have not been introduced to children yet, when new adults visit they are cautious but curious.
Both kittens will thrive in a kitten-proof home with calm spaces for them to feel safe and room to play. It will take time to gain their trust; give them a routine and stability, and they will blossom. These kittens would do beautifully in patient, loving homes with people who can appreciate their unique personalities.
You’ll be gaining delightful companions who have already shown resilience, sweetness, and a lovely, playful spirit.

All cats have received comprehensive veterinary care and tested negative for feline leukemia and FIV unless otherwise stated. Cats are up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations and have been spayed/neutered, treated for fleas and/or ear mites, de-wormed, and microchipped. Please note there may be additional follow-up visits.

Pet Haven is a foster-based rescue. Our animals live with foster families until they are placed in permanent homes and their foster families get to know the dogs and cats learning important information about the animals. For example, the foster family will know if the dog or cat is good with other animals or children, and will have a good idea of what kind of training, attention, and special needs the pet may require. This makes our foster families great resources for potential adopters!

Our Mission
Pet Haven improves the lives of pets and the people who love them by rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming dogs and cats; reducing pet overpopulation by supporting spay and neuter efforts, and providing resources to people that help strengthen the human-animal bond.
Our Vision
A Minnesota where all pets live in safe, loving homes.
Our Values
Excellence in service and care; community; integrity; innovation; perseverance; compassion; a rewarding place to volunteer
How We Help
Spay/Neuter Initiative Program: Providing support to end pet overpopulation in Minnesota
Owner Surrender: Providing a safe haven for pet owners
Foster: Committed to finding forever homes for cats and dogs
Phoenix Fund for Special Needs: Providing veterinary care for animals in need of healing
What We Do
We help dogs and cats find homes with loving families through foster-based care. Every dog and cat lives with a foster family until they find their forever families. We provide all of their basic needs including proper food, veterinary care, behavior training, and supplies.
Through in-home fostering, we learn about each animal’s temperament, personality, likes/dislikes, and any medical needs. With this first-hand information, we can then find the right family for each dog and cat.
Our volunteers also educate the public on responsible companion animal care and represent respect for animals at all times. Whether we’re working with prospective new families, meeting people at public events, or socializing with friends and family, we encourage others to view and treat their pets as members of the family. We are their guardians, and they depend on us for companionship and care.
We spay/neuter prior to adoption.
We microchip all our Pet Haven Pets and remain as a secondary contact.
We make sure all pets are up to date on required vaccinations
We test for Heartworm and Lymes in all our dogs and are transparent in the results and treament
We test for FeLV/FIV and are transparent in the results. We believe that cats who test positive still deserve a chance at a quality home.
We do not euthanize animals unless they have untreatable health or behavioral conditions that deny them an acceptable quality of life or makes them a serious threat to people, other animals, or themselves.
How We Operate
We rely on adoption fees, tax-deductible donations, grants, and special events to keep our rescue operating. Our staff, Board of Directors, and volunteers have provided the passion and commitment to keep Pet Haven a safe haven for animals for almost 70 years.
We are committed to preventing pet homelessness through the SNIP Grant. Since 2005, we have granted more than $240,000 to organizations in Minnesota to support spay/neuter initiatives.
