My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

** Work in progress cat **
I am Valora, a beautifully elegant girl. My name means courage. I was mom to my last litter of kittens, and I was so gentle with them. Now that they are grown, it is my turn to shine. I am playful. I love wand toys, and because I thrive on routine, I will remind you when it’s time to play! I`ll take a while to warm up and may even hide. But be reassured that I am always gentle, never aggressive. I adore other friendly playful cats.
I need a patient, experienced cat owner who can give me time to blossom. Once I feel safe, I`ll quietly curl up on your legs at night. Although a welcoming cat would help me blossom, I have no known exposure to dogs. And older, gentle children would be fine.

I am a `work-in-progress` cat. When I first came to Carmah, I was extremely shy but the volunteers saw possibilities in me. My foster and I have been making progress together. I want to find a home where I have the space and time to continue the process. When I first move to your home, I will probably hide while I get used to household rhythms, smells, sounds, and routines. I will slowly come out of my shell as I learn to trust you. I may always hide when new people arrive, or I might start to enjoy their company as well. I will reward your patience with loyalty and companionship.

Our all-volunteer feline rescue group is non-profit and no-kill. We have served our area of MA since 2002.
Our mission is to reduce the suffering of homeless cats, with a focus on cats in Central Massachusetts. Our programs include trap-neuter-release, placement of working cats, and adoptions of pet cats.
