My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Casper, a 1-year-old mixed-breed boy weighing 47 pounds who has truly blossomed in foster care. At first he may be a little shy, but once he warms up, his sweet, playful, and snuggly personality shines bright.

Casper is fully house-trained and a total pro with the doggy door. He does great in a crate and settles quietly, but he’s also proven he can be trusted loose in the house for a few hours at a time when his people are away. He’s a polite houseguest who enjoys toys and chew bones and isn’t destructive.

He loves running and playing with his foster dog siblings in the yard, especially when there’s a good game of chase or a stick to chew on. Casper also enjoys walks and is gaining confidence with the world around him. He gets along well with other dogs and does great with the cats in his foster home.

While Casper enjoys playtime, his favorite part of the day comes later. When the house settles down, he’s happiest curled up on the couch with his 12-year-old foster sibling, watching TV and soaking up snuggles while being held like the baby he’s convinced he is. Kids seem to be his absolute favorite people, and he lights up when he sees them.

Casper is a gentle, loving boy who would thrive in a home ready to give him a little patience at first and a lot of love afterward. Once he knows he’s safe, he’ll reward his family with loyalty, cuddles, and plenty of happy moments.

His minimum adoption fee is $200 plus a $15 fee, if 4 months or older, for rabies registration for McLean County residents.

He has been neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, heartworm checked, dewormed, and is on flea and heartworm preventatives.
