My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Emerson! 🐾

Emerson is a sweet and affectionate young guy with a heart as big as his paws! This handsome 1-year-old kitty is a gentle soul who loves spending time with his human friends. Whether he’s curling up in your lap or lounging beside you, Emerson will be your loyal companion, always ready for some love and attention.

He loves exploring his surroundings, and he’s always up for a game with his favorite toys. He’ll keep you entertained with his gentle antics, and his sweet nature will melt your heart.

Emerson would do best as the only pet in the home. He’s not fond of other cats, so a cat-free household is ideal for him. But if you’re looking for a devoted, loving companion who will shower you with affection, Emerson is your guy!

Come meet Emerson today and discover just how much love and joy this sweet boy can bring into your life. He’s waiting to become your new best friend!

Emerson is neutered, microchipped, FeLV/FIV negative, dewormed and up to date on vaccincations. If you would like to meet Emerson, please put in an application on our website today, or visit the Chuck & Don's in Apple Valley for more information.

Go meet their pets

While we are a foster-based animal rescue and all of our dogs are in foster care, we do have a cat adoption space at our new Adoption & Wellness Center in Chaska. We also partner with local retail locations like PetSmart Richfield and Chuck & Don's Chanhassen to feature adoptable cats at their stores.

More about this rescue

Carver-Scott Humane Society was founded in 1989 with the mission of connecting animals in need with people who care. Our vision is a world where every animal is safe, cared for, and loved.

In 2017, we introduced a new, innovative rescue philosophy based on our Four Pillars: TNR, Serve Where You Save, FurKeeps, and Adopters Welcome. As of 2018, we adopt over 500 dogs and cats into the community every year, with a nationally reported Live Release Rate of 97%. We serve over 1,000 Minnesota pets and their families annually through our surrender prevention program, FurKeeps, aiming to keep pets out of the shelter system in the first place.

CSHS focuses on serving and saving Minnesota pets, and we do not transport animals in from out of state. We do our best to prevent surrender, which creates capacity for us to transfer most of our animals from high-volume impounds and shelters throughout the state. For the past three years, we have transferred more animals from Minneapolis Animal Care & Control than any other animal welfare organization.
