Meet Halo, a young, energetic dog with a insatiable curious streak. He`s house trained and knows his way around a leash, making walks a breeze as he loves to explore. While he can be a bit jumpy and excitable, he`s also submissive. He enjoys being a lap dog despite his bursts of energy but he doesn`t really care about being petted. He weighs 16 pounds and likes car rides, running, toys, walks, and water but not baths. Halo has a penchant for digging and chewing, so he`ll thrive with someone who appreciates his zest for life and can provide plenty of toys and activities. He knows the come command which is evident when he comes back if you call him after he runs away while off leash. Halo does show a dominant side when interacting with other dogs, preferring to lead rather than follow but he is still friendly with them as long as they leave his toys alone. He has a quirky habit of nipping at children`s feet during play so he`ll need to live with kids at least 15 years old. This habit was why his family gave him up. CAP adoption fees include a variety of services - age-appropriate vaccinations, canine heartworm, and feline leukemia tests, spaying/neutering, deworming treatment, microchipping to name a few - the total value of which exceeds $450. These minimal adoption fees cover only part of each animal's stay at our shelter - please help us keep adoption fees low while maintaining the high quality of care for the animals in our charge by donating and/or volunteering.
