We recently adopted Buddy just over 1.5yrs ago from the Clarington shelter. He was brought in as a stray so unfortunately we have no idea what he truly went through. Buddy is a very sweet, loving and caring dog. He is extremely affectionate, loves his treats and loves to cuddle.
He is also a very anxious dog which unfortunately comes off as reactivity. In the time that weve had him, he did bite once. We briefly tried behavioural training but unfortunately we did not make much progress as we weret able to devote enough time for Buddy due to our work schedules.
Although he is a much different dog now than he was 1.5 years ago, its unfortunately not something we can keep up with in our family. He really has made tremendous progress these last 18 months.
Is gotten to the point where we feel like weve done all we can but he just needs more. He needs a good, healthy and calm environment. He needs someone who has more experience with dogs with behavioural issues and consistency.
