My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

💛 Meet Colin — the ultimate cuddle companion! 💛
This handsome gentleman is full of love...and maybe a few extra pounds 😋. Colin thrives on being close to his people. This little man will follow you from room to room, curl up beside you on the couch, and insist on sleeping right next to you at night. He just wants to be where the love is!🥹

When left alone, Colin might whine a little because he misses you — but give him a good walk and a few favorite toys, and he’ll settle right in. He’s not destructive, just a big softie with a big heart. 🥰

Colin’s a social butterfly who gets along great with cats and calm dogs. He prefers chill companions over rowdy puppies, and while he can be a bit “up in your business” at first, he just needs a minute to learn boundaries, but don't we all🤷

He walks beautifully on a leash (just use a harness — he coughs a bit if he pulls), rides nicely in the car, and is potty-trained! 🚗🐾
He’s also a man of comfort — loves plush toys, adores his emotional-support donut, and will happily share the couch for movie night. 🍩📺

💊Colin’s on a fish-based diet for mild allergies and has a few harmless “old man bumps,” but they don’t slow him down one bit!

🏡 Colin’s dream home? Someone who works from home, is retired, or just isn’t gone for too long — bonus points if there’s another calm pup to keep him company!

If you’re looking for a loyal, affectionate snuggle bug with a heart as big as Texas, Colin’s your guy!To have your home considered for adoption, read about our adoption process or fees, and find out about interstate transport (dogs only), please visit our website.

Long Way Home makes no guarantees on breed--most animals we receive from shelters are mixed breeds. As long as they need rescue, that's what is most important to us.

More about this rescue

Long Way Home was created to provide the last stop for animals displaced from their homes, deemed "unadoptable" by other rescues, or that need a level of care their previous owners or other shelters are unable or unwilling to provide.
