Hi there, my name is Gene! I’m named after Gene Belcher from the TV show Bob’s Burgers! I am on the hunt for my forever home, and am hoping you’re the human I’ve been looking for! In the beginning of June, a family found me and my siblings Tina and Louise, and we joined Pet Angel in foster care, as we were too tiny to be on our own in the rescue. Two other single kittens named Teddy and Angel joined us in foster care and the 5 of us had so much fun with our foster parents and with each other! Once we were fixed and big enough to join the rescue again, our foster family adopted Louise & Teddy while Angel, Tina and I came back to Pet Angel to go up for adoption. The 3 of us met the other kittens at Pet Angel, and we all reside together as roommates, and now we’re all looking for our very own forever homes!
I am absolutely obsessed with the cat wheel (by one fast cat) that is in our free roam room. I am on it more than I am not on it, just walking or running my day away. If I accidently get spooked, instead of hiding, I jump on the cat wheel and start sprinting!!! I am a little bit more on the timid side than my sister or other roommates, as I get spooked easily and need a little more time to adjust to change. However, I am NOT shy- I absolutely adore people and attention. I love to be pet and just melt the second you start petting me. I love attention, and I can’t get enough of it! You might notice in my pictures that I am slightly cross eyed- nothing is wrong with me, and I can see just fine, it’s just how I was born!
I am looking for a strictly indoor-only home with other cats, meaning I need to be adopted to a family that already has other cats that will want to be my friend, or you need to adopt one of my roommates (maybe my biological sister Tina!?) I would not do well as a single cat, as I really depend on other cats to feel comfortable! I have not met a dog before, but with a slow and proper introduction, I would likely get along with a dog that will not hurt me. I would also do great with gentle, older children. Because I am easily spooked, I wouldn’t be the best choice for a baby, but would do well with children a bit older. I am fixed, microchipped, up to date on all my shots and tested negative for FIV/FELV. I am up for adoption at Pet Angel Adoption & Rescue, located in Frankenmuth Michigan, and am looking for a home within the state of Michigan only.
