Here's what the humans have to say about me:
**Note: Currently, Samm is in Korea, but he will fly to Vancouver once adopted.
Background
Sam was rescued from a puppy mill this past summer and is one of the fortunate dogs who made it to safety. Since his rescue he has been living with other small dogs and learning that gentle hands and kind voices exist. He is now ready to find a forever home where he will be protected, loved, and encouraged as he continues his new life.
Personality & Socialization
Sam has a tender, gentle nature and is still shy with people. He feels most secure around calm, friendly small dogs and looks to them for comfort and guidance. With people he needs time, patience, and a quiet approach to build trust. Once he feels safe, his sweet and warm personality begins to shine. He has not been exposed to cats or young children.
Behaviours
Sam is learning about the world outside the mill and watches other dogs to understand what to do. A home with another steady, gentle dog will help him adjust smoothly. He is quiet, soft, and submissive, and enjoys resting in peaceful spaces when he needs a break. He has not shown destructive behavior. Walks and car rides are new and can be intimidating, but with support and time he will continue gaining confidence.
Health & Diet
Sam has had a full veterinary exam and is healthy. He has also had a dental cleaning. He is neutered, microchipped, and current on vaccinations, deworming, and monthly parasite prevention. He eats dry food twice a day.
Ideal Home
Sam will do best in a calm, patient home with another friendly small dog who can help him feel safe and guide him. A family with someone present most of the day will support his continued adjustment and confidence building. With patience, routine, and gentle encouragement, he will come out of his shell and show his sweet little spirit. Whoever adopts this gentle boy will be very lucky.
