Fawn At my age, one begins to think about what the future holds. I am 13-years-old and the first time I resided at the HSHC was in 2017. I had been found as a stray cat in Noblesville, and I had an upper respiratory infection. Once I recovered, I was adopted and lived with my owner for eight years. But he lost interest in me and surrendered me back to the shelter on October 15, 2025. Now I am considered a senior cat, and it is hard to compete with all the much younger kitties. However, I have many qualities that youngsters don’t have. I am calm, easygoing, and quite content with a soft bed to sleep in and wet food. I am missing 23 of my 30 teeth, and hard food is not as easy to eat. Although I don’t run any marathons, jump 5 feet in the air, or bat toy mice across the room, I am extremely affectionate, love to be close to my people, and love to be held and cuddled. When the interviewer lady (IL) visited me today, I was sound asleep, wearing a tight little pink sweater. As soon as she touched my head, I was purring to beat the band. I am especially fond of chin and ear scratches. But please avoid touching my belly. I have no experience with dogs, but I’ve gotten along well with a kitten, a newborn human, and a 4-year-old girl. I am cautious around strangers, but with enough time, I will show them my sweet, friendly personality. Like most senior citizens, I take some medicine and eat a diet designed to support my kidneys. But if you are searching for a quiet companion and would love to give an “older lady” a loving retirement home, I may be just what you are looking for. 2-4-26

With an open admission policy, a No-Kill philosophy, and more than 3,100 animals crossing our threshold each year, we have still maintained a 98% placement rate over the last 3 years.
This is an amazing feat for any organization…let alone one that takes in some of the most abused, injured and seriously ill animals imaginable.
