My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Boriska is a shy girl who came to us after her owner passed away with 3 other cats. She was understandably quite scared and would not let anyone touch her. She was moved to a foster home to be with a outgoing kitten. With the help of a buddy, gentle care and patience, she begun to feel safe and come out of her shell. Now she allows petting, comes to people for churros, starting to play, loves head scratches. Still gets a little afraid and runs to her safe place occasionally but is getting more confident everyday. She is fostered in a home with dogs and is very curious about dogs that are calm and cat savvy. She has bonded to her foster mom and is her shadow. She is slowly letting other people pet her but would just prefer her foster mom. This girl has alot of love to give and loves hard but is going to take a patient family to allow her to get comfortable so she can bond and feel safe in a new home.

Go meet their pets

Our pets are currently in foster homes as well as we have a program with the local women's prison. With the prison the animals live in the room with the inmate handler and receive socialization and training. We have just recently added dogs to our program with the prison. Generally the pets are brought to our office for their meet and greets and adoptions. We also partner with Ziggy's Cat Lounge in Bremerton for our cats and kittens.

More about this rescue

We are a small but mighty Humane Society serving an underserved county with adoption, spay and neuter, wellness, stray recovery, and other animal related services. Currently we are all foster as we don't have a shelter yet, but we have a 5 acre parcel we are going to build a shelter on. We have started the planning process with Shelter Planners of America.
