Hello, my name is Elmo! I am a kitten with quite the backstory who is looking for the purrfect home to make my happily ever after and will care for me all the rest of my days! Despite having a medically enlarged heart, I am one of the sweetest and softest cats you will ever meet and BOY, will my family be lucky to bring me home as their newest family member!!!
In May of 2025, on the first 80 degree day in Frankenmuth, somebody dumped my mommy, me and my 5 brothers outside Pet Angel. Our mommy cat was left inside a teeny, tiny cage and next to the cage, they left a rubber maid tote fully closed with me and my 5 brothers inside of it. We were just 6-week old, and the tote didn’t even have air holes in it!!! When the volunteers showed up for the evening shift, they found us, and quickly brought us inside to safety. Pet Angel named our mommy Sesame, and me and my brothers were all named after Sesame Street Characters (I’m Elmo, but my brothers names are Grover, Rocco, Bert, Ernie & Snuffy!) We went off to foster care, where we were safe and sound while our mommy weaned raised and weaned us, and we came back to Pet Angel when we were big enough to be without 24 hour care.
I am such a lover! I am a medium haired cat, just like my mommy! My tail is fluffy and I am oh-so soft! I am very outgoing, and love attention! I like to snuggle with people, climb on your laps, be held like a baby, play with cat toys, and wrestle my roommates! I love laying in fluffy beds, love to groom my roommates, and am a big fan of the cat tunnel in our free roam room! One of my favorite places to hang out is the cat hammock in our room! I really like to be held, and am a very affectionate kitten! I am adventurous, and love to explore, love to be up high and climb cat trees, and am truly so much fun! Pet Angel’s volunteers always tell me that who ever ends up with me is going to be SO lucky! I know if you come meet me, you’re going to fall instantly in love!!!
I do have a small health condition, and I am hoping that this does not scare away any potential owners, but helps me find the best family who will give me all the care I may need in my life. In the end of July 2025, one of my brothers, Snuffy, suddenly passed away. One day he was sick, so Pet Angel took him immediately into the vet, and the next day he was gone. It happened so fast, and all of the staff and volunteers at Pet Angel were absolutely devastated. At first, The vet thought Snuffy’s symptoms looked

When two litters of kittens became cages of cats in the Engel Family's garage, Jim and Nancy had a choice to make: find homes for the cats they had and call it good, or open a rescue. That was the day Pet Angel was born! Pet Angel specializes in finding homes for bonded pairs, shy, scared & cats who require extra needs. These are the cats that are often looked over at other rescues, but here, they are they priority!
