Update: 11/04/25
Tyson has enjoyed a very happy and loving journey in the short time he was rescued from the shelter after his Mommy passed away and, sadly, no one wanted him. It's hard to imagine that someone wouldn't want this sweet and darling little man. He loves to be near his human, is very affectionate, gets along well with foster mom's resident senior dog, eats well, sleeps well and is housebroken. He does have a little incontinence during the night so he sleeps with a belly band - other than that - no accidents. He will let you know when he wants to go out and walks nicely on the leash. He didn't know how to do his business in the grass but because he is a smart boy and a fast learner, he is starting to go in the grass. He had even been afraid of the stairs and now prances up the stairs like a young dog!
Tyson has been to the vet and has stage one kidney disease, so he will be going on a kidney diet. His blood work is pretty good, some highs and lows, but considering the neglect he has endured, he is doing quite well. Tyson needs a dental in a big way but vet is waiting until he is on the kidney diet for a couple of weeks, along with antibiotics and then will reassess. After his nasty, infected mouth is healed, it can also stabilize his blood levels.
That's what we know for now and if you are wanting to give a mellow, calm and loving senior boy a good home, he promises to love and cherish you for the rest of his life. Will you be the one?
