My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Currently located at our Evansville, IN location

Meet Max!

Max is a 5-year-old male Border Collie with a striking black-and-white coat and a distinctive white chest spot. Smart, loyal, and full of energy, Max thrives as the only animal in the household, where he can have all the attention and love to himself.

He’s looking for a patient and active home that can keep up with his intelligence and need for mental and physical stimulation. If you’re searching for a devoted companion who will bond closely with you, Max may be the perfect match.

All of our dogs are examined by a veterinarian, given age-appropriate vaccinations, dewormed, microchipped and spayed or neutered.

More about this shelter

It Takes A Village Rescue, Inc. is a non-kill 501(c)(3) rescue dedicated to doing what it takes to find loving homes for stray, abandoned, and surrendered animals, and to keep these animals safe and free from further suffering. Our mission is "To work as one in helping homeless animals irrespective of breed, location or circumstance." By working with committed volunteers, foster homes, veterinarians and partner rescues or shelters, we are able to rescue countless animals every year and provide them with loving temporary care as we work to find them well-matched forever homes. Although we do not discriminate based on breed, size or color, we have a particular interest in bully breeds, special medical needs, senior dogs, black dogs and other hard-to-place animals.
