My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

***Hewitt is currently located at our rescue in GA and is scheduled to be transported to NJ and be available for adoption at the Tractor Supply in Ringoes over the Nov. 15-16 weekend. An application for his adoption can be submitted at socorescue.com (mo need to register or login). Questions about Hewitt and/or out adoption process should be sent to socorescue8@gmail.com; please do not call the shelter.***

A local family started noticing a stray female dog had began to show signs of being pregnant, so they took her under their care so that she'd have a safe place to deliver her litter. The pregnant dog was very sweet and receptive to their kindness. Shortly after the mom delivered her litter, she apparently got into a fight with some other animal, evident by the bite marks, that left her with a fractured leg. Not only did this family continue to care for mom and pups, they also covered the cost of having the mom's leg examined and treated by a vet and have offered to keep her for now. Their dedication to helping this mom and pups only increased our desire to help find the pups a home.

Hewitt is a master at combining all of the positive traits that make up a wonderful puppy. He's playful, friendly and very, very happy. He's also an ideal candidate for just about anyone who is looking to add the warmth, love and joy of a puppy to their home.

Hewitt has now received 2/3 of his first-year puppy vaccines, his Bordetella and rabies vaccinations as well as scheduled de-wormings and preventative care including being started on his flea/tick and heartworm preventatives. His adopter will have to agree to having Hewitt neutered once turns 6 months of age and providing SoCo with verification of such. Hewitt will require all of his basic training.
