This sweet senior girl is the total package — gentle, well-mannered, and ready to brighten someone’s life. 💕

Poppy is friendly and easily approachable, always greeting new friends with a calm and loving energy. She’s eager to leave her kennel for a walk and shows her gratitude with a soft tail wag and happy smile. 🚶‍♀️🐾

On leash, she’s an absolute dream — easy to walk, steady, and polite. Poppy is also wonderfully well-behaved, easy to handle, and loves showing off her manners. Ask her to sit, and she’ll happily plop down like the good girl she is! 🐶✨

She seems to do really well around other dogs and brings a peaceful presence wherever she goes. ❤️

Meet and greets with your family dog and shelter dog is encouraged. Dog and cat meet and greets are not allowed.

Submit Application

$80 for all kitten/cat adoptions. $90 for all puppy/dog adoptions. $35 for all rabbit adoptions.

Take the Pet Home

Additional adoption info

The shelter is open to the public Monday through Saturday from 9:00am to 5:00pm, with adoptions closing at 4:30pm. The shelter is closed on Sundays and all government observed holidays.

City of Henderson Animal Care and Control is the only open admission animal shelter in the City of Henderson. We service the City of Henderson and the residents and animals within city limits. Our goal is to find forever homes for all adoptable animals and reunite pets with their people. We work with multiple rescue groups and allow any good adoptee to adopt from our shelter.
