My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Edweena is a quiet little princess who’s finally ready for her solo spotlight! 💖 After raising her adorable kittens, she’s hanging up her mom hat and claiming her throne.

This lovely lady enjoys her privacy — especially when using the facilities, which must include a covered litter box fit for a queen. She’s gentle, sweet, and loves a good wand toy session when the mood strikes.

Edweena has had a difficult time adjusting to the other cat in the home and would prefer to be the only cat in the home so she can soak in all of the love and attention! Edweena’s ready to be adored like the royalty she is! 👑🐾

All CSHS kitties are spayed/neutered, up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, FIV/FeLV test (if not born in care), dewormed and microchipped.

Go meet their pets

While we are a foster-based animal rescue and all of our dogs are in foster care, we do have a cat adoption space at our new Adoption & Wellness Center in Chaska. We also partner with local retail locations like PetSmart Richfield and Chuck & Don's Chanhassen to feature adoptable cats at their stores.

More about this rescue

Carver-Scott Humane Society was founded in 1989 with the mission of connecting animals in need with people who care. Our vision is a world where every animal is safe, cared for, and loved.

In 2017, we introduced a new, innovative rescue philosophy based on our Four Pillars: TNR, Serve Where You Save, FurKeeps, and Adopters Welcome. As of 2018, we adopt over 500 dogs and cats into the community every year, with a nationally reported Live Release Rate of 97%. We serve over 1,000 Minnesota pets and their families annually through our surrender prevention program, FurKeeps, aiming to keep pets out of the shelter system in the first place.

CSHS focuses on serving and saving Minnesota pets, and we do not transport animals in from out of state. We do our best to prevent surrender, which creates capacity for us to transfer most of our animals from high-volume impounds and shelters throughout the state. For the past three years, we have transferred more animals from Minneapolis Animal Care & Control than any other animal welfare organization.
