My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Age: 3 years

Capuchin monkeys are small, fluffy monkeys found in Central and South America. They are intelligent and curious little guys, just our Capuchin. Capuchin the kitty is a gentle soul. He`ll take treats politely off your hand and doesn`t swat or bite when he wants space. Sadly, Capuchin came from an overcrowding situation and is only starting to learn that people are kind. Right now, he doesn`t end pets, but with a little patience, we are confident this guy will grow in a loving and gentle companion. Capuchin is also just starting to learn what cat toys are; so far he`s curious, but doesn`t quite know what to do with them. Give this cutie a chance and bring him home!

More about this shelter

CONNECTING LIVES SINCE 1922

From our earliest beginning, Calgary Humane Society was more than a shelter. As Calgary’s first-established animal welfare organization, connecting the lives of animals and people while providing essential animal services to the community remains our central priority.

Today, Calgary Humane Society (CHS) shelters almost 5,000 homeless animals each year. In 1922 we set out to help as many animals as we can and we will continue to do so by fostering the values of respect, compassion, commitment, teamwork, integrity and innovation.

Our mission is to help as many animals as we can.

Our vision is using innovative strategies to lead, inspire, and educate in the humane treatment of companion animals, fostering an enlightened community that consistently demonstrates respect and compassion for all animals.

Our dream is a community where animals are valued, humanely treated, and live enriched lives.

Calgary Humane Society is committed to creating a better tomorrow through education and collaboration.
