My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Aspen & Dove: Siblings, Sidekicks, and Sunbeam Seekers

Hello! We’re Aspen (the dashing brother) and Dove (the graceful sister), and we’ve got quite the tale to tell — one full of whiskers, wonder, and the kind of sibling bond that would make even the closest of cat duos jealous.

You see, we weren’t always lounging in sunbeams and chasing feathers like tiny panthers. Once upon a time, we were rescued from Stockton and whisked away to San Francisco, where we landed in a warm, safe foster home. At first, everything was new and kind of uncertain for us — but with patience, chin scritches, and an endless supply of Churu, we’ve been blossoming into curious, sweet, and silly little beings.

We do everything together. Whether we’re orchestrating a synchronized attack on a toy mouse or curling up in a perfectly-mirrored nap pile, we’re a bonded pair through and through. We wrestle. We groom each other. We team up to investigate every cardboard box, sunny window, and crinkly paper bag we encounter. Where one of us goes, the other is usually two steps behind (or ahead — we take turns leading adventures).

We’re no longer tiny kittens, but we’ve still got just the right amount of youthful energy—think playful zoomies without the chaos. These days, we’re mastering the balance between fun and relaxation. Dove likes to keep an eye on things from the highest perch, regal and observant, while Aspen is your resident goofball who’s happiest flopped in your lap once he feels safe. We’ve grown into our personalities and are ready to bring a little joy, play, and calm companionship into your home.

Humans are growing on us. We started off shy, unsure of how this whole “people” thing worked. But with the help of our wonderful foster family (and did we mention the treats?), we’re starting to see how great it is to have a human to love. Every day, we open up a little more. Every day, we surprise our foster with something new — a purr, a cuddle, a game of chase that ends with a belly-up flop of victory.

We’re looking for a forever home that will let us keep unfolding at our own pace — a place where we can continue our story surrounded by patience, love, and plenty of windows to watch the world from. We might take a little time to settle in, but once we do, we’ll reward you with two hearts full of love, four curious eyes, and eight paws worth of personality.

Could we be the next chapter in your life story? We’re ready when you are.

Love,
Aspen & Dove

More about this rescue

Every day adult and senior cats with treatable medical and behavioral conditions are euthanized. GIVE ME SHELTER's goal is to rescue these cats from certain death and place them into loving permanent homes.
GMS is a registered 501(c)3 organization and is dedicated to helping stop the overpopulation of unwanted and abandoned cats. We are a small group of dedicated volunteers who are committed to bettering the life of adult cats who no longer have a home to call their own. Every time you adopt from us, you allow us to save another cat that would have otherwise died. We receive new cats into our system almost every week. Our website is constantly being updated, so please check back often!
