Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Daffy is a 2 year old Bluetick Coonhound. She was found as a stray and came into rescue with her pup last year. Since that time, she has been working on socialization and learning her basic commands. She is a true stubborn hound, but also as sweet as can be. She is spayed and up to date on vaccines.
Daffy is crate trained and house trained. She will definitely let out a beautiful bay to let you know she needs to go outside. She is super food and treat motivated, which makes training a lot easier. It is also how she has been so successful in crate training.
We know that Daffy is tolerant of other respectful dogs, and is disinterested in cats. She does have a prey drive for rabbits and squirrels in the yard, and has climbed a 4 foot fence to show them they do not belong in her area.
Daffy continues to work on socialization and leash walking. She knows sit and down, and is working on her recall. She is true to her breed and loves to have a set schedule, so if you are late in breakfast or supper time, she will bay to let you know that!
Daffy will require someone with breed awareness and patience. She is not a high energy dog, however she is a hound, is young, and since she can climb a 4 foot fence will need a relatively active home.
Daffy also loves the sun, and loves to lay on the floor or the couch to catch as much of it as possible.

More about this rescue
We are a family of volunteers offering a sanctuary service for dogs in need; canine hospice, boarding for active military members, and other pet needs.
Occasionally, dogs come into our care that are adoptable and do not need the sanctuary life, and we work to rehome them into the best home possible.
