Barry is a wonderfully affectionate and playful guy looking for a forever home. When he arrived at the shelter, he had a large gash across his back from getting stuck in a fence! His wound is healing well and his happy personality is shining through. He is housebroken and good on a leash. He is a world class snuggler who loves to cuddle up on your lap, neck, covers...anywhere where snuggles and love can be found! He can become very attached to his person and is learning that there is plenty of love to go around when he is with his foster fur siblings.
Barry can have some separation anxiety in his crate for the first week or so but has now learned with his current foster that coming and going is part of life. When he transitions to an adopter, they will need to be patient to let him learn this as well. Otherwise he is crate trained and sleeps in a crate at night.
Barry can also be wary of some male strangers and may need slow introductions to men in and outside the home. He warms up with some space and treats but does prefer female energy.

Interview
We will contact you via email to let you know if the dog is still available and to book a telephone call interview.

Meet the Pet
We'll invite you to meet the dog at a fair, or in some cases at the foster's home. Dogs over 6mos will go to a 1 week adoption trial.

Home Check
When the pup is in your home we'll follow up to see how it's going and volunteer will visit you for a home check
5.
Sign Adoption Contract
If all goes well you'll come to our next adoption fair to FINALIZE! Pay the fee, sign the contract, get your photo!

Dogs Without Borders screens potential applicants to make sure the dog is right fit for their home. We require an adoption application and a home-check. Our adoption fees are $325 for dogs over 1 year, $350 for puppies 6months - 1 year, and $425 for puppies under 6 months. All dogs are spayed/ neutered, vaccinated and microchipped prior to adoption. We also give new owners an ID tag.
