Take the Pet Home
This helps Saving Great Animals with pet care costs.
Meet Oreo!
Oreo might just be the cutest dog in town! He is truly an adorable little guy. He is estimated to be around 1.5 to 2 years old and weighs around 15 lbs. He is a ball of fluff though was recently shaved because he had some bad matting in his coat. We think he is Havanese mixed with something else, possibly terrier.
Oreo is a good boy but he is a little bit of a project. He has all the makings of a really fun and loyal companion but he needs some training. It is clear that wherever he was before he came to us, he did not receive any training or structure. As a result, he just sort of does what he wants and that includes some naughty stuff. He is happy, outgoing, energetic, playful, hilarious and a wonderful cuddler. On the flip side, he needs to learn to calm down a little. He will follow you around the house and when he wants attention he will nip playfully at your heels. Very funny but not really a desirable behavior. He plays well with other dogs but does not alway pick up on their cues to stop the play. He is really smart and eager to learn - very food motivated. If you want a buddy to train with, he is your guy.
Oreo will need a home with a yard so he can zoom around and burn off some excess energy at times. He does not love being home alone for too long - boredom and Oreo don't mix well. He would love to tag along with you though! Kids over 12 only because of the playful nibbles. A calm but active home will be best to help him learn, rather than a more busy or chaotic home where his needs may not be able to be fully met.
All in all, Oreo is a fun and happy friend in need of a little work. He is vaccinated, microchipped and neutered. His adoption fee is $450
We cover the medical to prepare the pet for adoption and the adopt donations go directly to cover those costs and range from $295-$495. Thank you for stepping up to save a life!
To expedite to meet with this dog, please go to our site at www.savinggreatanimals.org and fill out an application. We look at the first applications to arrive, so we hope to hear from you soon!
