I have this dream every night… I’m in my coziest jammies, snuggled up with you on the couch, giving gentle kisses and happy tail wags as we Netflix and chill together. In my dream, I’m finally home. I’m safe. I’m loved. And best of all… I have YOU! 🥰
Hello! I’m AGATHA — a cool, calm and confident 9 years young Pit Bull mix girl. I’m a 56 lb bundle of unconditional love, silly snuggles and joyful personality. 😎
The first things you’ll notice about me are my endearing ever-happy face, these bright and intelligent eyes, adorable floppy ears, and the most delightful butt wiggles you’ve ever seen — all working perfectly together to make me the irresistible cutie-patootie I am! 🐶
I’m quite the extrovert and no one’s a stranger! I’ll come bunny hopping to you and greet you like we are besties! You can’t help but smile ear-to-ear at my eagerness to love, adore and win you over. 😘
My hobbies include following my volunteer buddies around the yard, giving them expert-level kisses and cuddles, getting those belly rubs and back scratches in (I’m kinda ticklish, but don't let that stop you please).
While I’m not into toys, I thrive on the companionship and warmth of hoomans. Well, what can I say? Hoomans are so much more interesting. Plus…you give BELLY RUBS! Duh!
I’m a well-mannered girl, too! I’ll “Sit” when you ask me to and will wait patiently without jumping up for treats and take them gently from your hand. I’m also a lovely leash walker — happy to stroll right by your side. And speaking of walkies, I have a bit of arthritis, so I prefer short strolls. 🐕
When it comes to other doggos, I tend to be a little picky! I seem to prefer calm, polite male dogs — just like my shelter best buddy and fellow senior, Henry, who I love to spend time with when he’s in the neighboring yard. If you have a dog, please bring them along for a supervised, on-leash meet-and-greet. 🐶 🐶
I’d love to go home to someone who appreciates a sweet senior like me — someone who’ll enjoy my calm presence and my slow pace in life. And in return, nothing would make me happier than offering you my sweet, steady, quiet, and loyal companionship. 🏡 🐾
I can’t wait for my dream to come true! And I can’t wait for YOU to be in it! 💭
⚡️⚡️ Newsflash ⚡️⚡️
Hello, future family! 😍
I have some tail-wagging and butt-wiggling news!
Because I enjoy tasty treats and love snoozing on a cozy bed, my volunteer buddies have put together a special adoption goodie bag for us! 🎁🧸🍪
(Pssssst…just between you and me, the real prize is yours truly!) 😉
So… what are you waiting for? Let’s spend some time in the yard and fall head over paws for each other! 🐾💕
XOXO,
Agatha ❤️😘

Please browse our adoptable animals. We make every effort to keep our listings updated.
Each of our animals has contact information in the description - either referencing the phone number of the foster volunteer who is fostering the animal or East County Animal Shelter contact information if a shelter animal.
If you have questions, please use the contact information in the description directly. We attempt to forward emails sent to contact@tvar.org to the foster though it is not necessarily before the animal is adopted. Also, volunteers who monitor this email do not know the animals whereas the fosters do!
If a dog or puppy is in foster with TVAR, please fill out an adoption application (available here: https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/TVAR/Dog). We consider each application and pick the best one for the animal in question. In general, we do not do out of area adoptions. Kittens do not need applications completed - just contact the foster!
If an animal is at ECAS, they have their own adoption process. Please go to ECAS (they are open daily 11:30am to 5:30pm except holidays) to meet the animal and learn about ECAS's adoption process.
All TVAR animals are spayed/neutered, up-to-date on vaccines, treated for worms and fleas, and microchipped. Felines are FIV/FeLV tested. Many of our pets also come with a "packed bag" that can include a variety of goodies like bedding, food, toys, leashes, and even private training sessions with our professional trainers. Adoption fees vary by species. Our fee range is $120-$350. The foster volunteer can provide specifics for the animals in their care.

More about this rescue
Tri-Valley Animal Rescue (TVAR) was founded in 1992 and is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization serving the East Bay (San Francisco Bay Area). We primarily place shelter animals in foster care of TVAR volunteers while trying to find them permanent homes. Although we do not have a facility of our own, we help over 1000 animals find forever homes yearly through the hard work and dedication of our East County Animal Shelter shelter volunteers who socialize shelter animals daily and assist the public in selecting a pet to adopt.
We have a variety of volunteer programs including a shelter program and four foster programs. We are always looking for more volunteers - especially fosters. If you are interested in volunteering with us, please check out our volunteer page (https://www.tvar.org/volunteer/) for information.
