Grim is a handsome one-year old male (possible) Hound/Catahoula Leopard Dog who was brought to the HSOV on October 21, 2025 after he was found in Washington County Ohio. Grim did not have a dog license tag, and he was not microchippped.
This good-looking young man has a black/gray coat with a blue merle pattern, a small patch of white on his chest, tan shading on his long legs, a long tail, and a beautiful black/blue merle Hound face with dark brown eyes, tan eyebrows, tan shading on his large muzzle, and large floppy ears.
Grim was understandably very nervous when he first entered our shelter being in an unfamiliar place with so many other dogs nearby but, thanks to our compassionate HSOV Kennel Techs, he has come to realize that he is in good hands with people who already love him.
Grim weighs 65 lbs. He does not include cats in his circle of friends and cannot be trusted to play nice with them.
In compliance with the Ohio Revised Code, Grim was held for the mandatory three-day stray hold and was not reclaimed.
These updated photos of Grim were taken on November 5, 2025 when HSOV Kennel Tech Lauryn Hamilton accompanied him for more flattering photos than his first pictures which were taken in a floor crate. As with nearly every dog (and cat), Grim immediately knew that he could trust Lauryn and everything would be ok with Lauryn by his side. It was touching to see Grim look to Lauryn for guidance and to politely ask for loving attention ..
Since he was not reclaimed, Grim is available for foster-to-adopt (or merely fostering) while he awaits his neuter procedure. Please complete and submit an HSOV Foster/Adoption Application if you are interested in giving Grim a fabulous home.
Grim was neutered on November 17, 2025 and was also given rabies vaccine.
Update: Grim went home with a foster family on November 22, 2025 who plans to adopt him if all goes well.
Grim was returned to HSOV in late November 2025. His foster family loved Grim and one of their dogs got along fine with Grim, but Grim and another dog in the household did not .. So Grim is once again looking for a loving home.
