Our family rescued Sarge from a mutual friend who told us that he was being abused and locked in a cage 24/7. He was very sweet to me but for the husband he wasn’t very nice to him, Sarge would growl at him and bark at him like he was going to get hurt by him. Luckily after a few days of the husband giving him treats and gaining his trust he has been a wonderful dog and is very loving but I think he has a hard time trusting other adults or strangers. He is great with our kids and toddler, doesn’t go after either of us when we give him food or take his bowl. We have had him for 5 years. We got him when he was a puppy, so he is also now 5 years old. We also have cats and doesn’t seem to be bothered by the cats. We are having to hopefully find him a new loving home because we are moving and unfortunately can’t take him along.
