My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Thackery Binx — Our FIV+ Heart-Stealer

Thackery Binx showed up at our facility one cold day, looking for nothing more than a warm place and a little kindness. One of our board members took one look at him shivering outside and said, “No way he’s staying out here alone."

That was the moment this big-hearted black DSH finally got his chance.

We’re pretty sure Thackery Binx spent most of his two years surviving outdoors — no soft beds, no guaranteed meals, no one to love him back. And still… he’s nothing but love.

He rubs on legs.
He leans in for affection.
He gives that slow, grateful blink that says, “Thank you for seeing me.”

At his vet appointment, we learned he is FIV positive — and here’s where we want to break the stigma:

✅ FIV is NOT a death sentence.

✅ FIV cats can live long, healthy, joyful lives.

✅ FIV is NOT contagious to humans, dogs, or friendly cats.

✅ Most FIV+ cats live completely normal lives with routine care.

Thackery Binx doesn’t know he has a “label.”
He just knows he finally feels safe — and he’s ready to pour his whole heart into a family that will see past three little letters.

What Thackery Binx needs:

• A safe, indoor home
• Love (he has plenty to give back)
• Someone willing to look at the CAT, not the diagnosis

This boy survived the outdoors. Now he deserves to thrive indoors — warm, loved, and finally home.

If you want a companion who will truly appreciate every day by your side, Thackery Binx is your boy.
Help us break the stigma.
Help us give him his forever.
