Aurora, our 4 year old Husky, is as beautiful as the northern lights she is named for! She's full of energy and loves to play, especially when she gets the zoomies! Like most huskies, she is an independent girl and can be a little aloof at first- once she warms up to you her affectionate side will start to shine. Because she can a bit shy at first with strangers, we are recommending an adult only home with some dog experience. She would be a perfect match for an active person seeking an intelligent and spirited dog to go on adventures with- hiking buddy, anyone?

Established in 1999, The Shelter Connection is a 501c3 volunteer organization at the Town of North Hempstead Animal Shelter. Our mission, in partnership with the Town, is to improve the quality of life for the dogs at the shelter and increase adoptions through training and socialization.
