My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Bellatrix, a stunning 1-year-old spayed female Hound mix with a beautiful brindle and white coat that turns heads everywhere she goes. This gorgeous girl isn’t just pretty—she’s full of personality, love, and joy.

Bellatrix is a playful, happy pup who always seems to be smiling. She loves being around people and isn’t shy about giving hugs to show her affection. She enjoys going on walks and would be a wonderful companion for an active family who can take her on fun outings and adventures. She does exhibit separation anxiety so it would be best that she be adopted into a home with people who work from home, or have another pet to keep her company. She’s dog-friendly, though a meet and greet is required to make sure she and her potential canine buddies are a great match. With her adaptable nature, Bellatrix might do well in either an apartment or a house—as long as she gets playtime, walks, and plenty of attention.

If you’re looking for a beautiful, loving, energetic companion who’s ready to brighten your days, Bellatrix is your girl!

More about this shelter

The Colony Animal Services strives to protect andTCAS LOGO-UPDATED nurture The City of The Colony’s lost, homeless, abused, injured, and sick pets. We seek to provide animals the opportunity to be reclaimed, adopted, rehabilitated, or rescued. It is the mission for the Animal Service Officers and volunteers to pursue a positive synergy and to serve the citizens and pets of The Colony.

Animal Services is committed to saving each and every animal that comes into our care. Over the last few years, we have improved our live release rate to 97%. We hold our standards high at keeping this percentage, and in doing so, we ask our rescue partners and citizens to help us pursue finding our animals forever homes.

Every year, we get over a hundred injured and sick animals that need our help. In order for us to help them, we use our donated medical fund to give them the proper care and treatment they need. The only way for us to provide this needed medical care is through our generous financial donors. Every penny donated is sent to our medical fund. Please help us continue this much needed medical care for our animals by donating. Even if you cannot donate, it is a huge help to share posts on social media.
