Meet Roxie – The Mini Nose on the Go! Personality: Curious, Affectionate, Determined
If Roxie really is a Bloodhound mix, she’s the fun-sized edition! Don’t let her smaller stature fool you — this girl’s got all the spirit and energy packed into one adorable, wiggly body. Roxie is a fun little energy bundle who’s always ready for the next adventure, whether it’s a walk, a hike, or a backyard sniff-a-thon. She seems housetrained, walks well on leash, and shows polite curiosity toward other dogs (though she’d like a proper meet-and-greet first, just to make sure everyone’s on the same page!). Roxie loves daily exercise to stretch her legs, chase a few zoomies, and of course, inspect the neighborhood for any new and exciting smells — her nose is always on duty!
Fun Fact: Roxie considers pigeons her personal fitness trainers — she swears they help her get her daily sprints in! With her mix of playful energy and sweet snuggles, Roxie is the perfect companion for someone who wants a loyal, lively best friend who’s down for everything (and will sniff everywhere).

All shelter locations are conducting animal viewing and adoptions on a first come, first serve basis. We are not able to move a pet from one location to another for your viewing.
The adoption fee is waived for all available pets in care and in foster homes. Standard adoption practices will still be in place, including background checks.

The City of Albuquerque Animal Welfare Department (AWD) expanded the shelter days of service to seven days a week with operational hours of 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. and pet viewing from 10:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m for both the east and west side shelter locations.
