If you see pets listed by a private owner, it means that they’re adoptable through Adopt a Pet’s Rehome program – the safe and reliable way to find a loving new home for your pet.
Hunter is 3 years old. He’s house trained, up to date on shots, walks on a leash, and travels well. He does not like being in confined spaces (kennels, small yards, locked in a room, etc.). He goes out in public well and minds his own business, but at home only enjoys the company of one of our dogs. I would not say he is a candidate for dog parks or apartments. He needs someone with an active lifestyle (hiking, traveling, etc). He will not do well with someone who has many dogs or cats. He has been around horses and is fine with them. If trained, he could make a great cattle dog, hunting dog, agility dog, etc.
He does not get along with my old bully breed guy, so we have to have them permanently separated, and it is becoming very difficult to do so. Hunter does get along with my German shepherd (3 years old). He was basically dumped off on us and we tried to make it work.
