My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Pippy is an incredibly affectionate cat who loves pets and back rubs. When she gets pet, she will arch her back like a professional contortionist and purr for as long as you pet her. She may even jump into your lap and kiss your nose.

The only things Pippy doesn't like are being picked up and having her feet touched. At the same time, she can be very shy and jumpy, but warms up to people very quickly, especially if you have food.

Pippy would do best in a quiet home with no other pets and older children only. She can't wait to meet you!

Submit Application

Before submitting an application, we ask that you review the information on cat care and our policies here: https://www.vokra.ca/adopt

2.
Interview

Our adoption counsellors focus on educating our adopters on cat care. Once approved, they use a matching process to find your perfect pet.

3.
Meet the Pet

When you find a kitty you like, you will arrange an appointment with the foster home - where the kitty feels most comfortable and confident.

4.
Sign Adoption Contract

Our adoptions contract process includes reviewing critical cat care information and providing contacts for post-adoption advice.

5.
Take the Pet Home

Woo hoo! You will be expected to take the kitty to a free post-adoption vet check within 2 weeks, and follow up on any required vet care.

Additional adoption info

Each year more than 1,400 cats and kittens are adopted through VOKRA. We're always here after the adoption if you need ongoing advice.

Response times can vary, depending on the time of year and available volunteer resources. Applications and help requests for non-emergency issues will usually receive a response in 1-3 days.
