Lowe is a beautiful 2-year old female Shepherd mix who was brought to the HSOV on October 27, 2025 after she was found at the Lowe's Home Improvement Store in Marietta Ohio. Lowe had apparently been wandering around behind that store and also had been seen on the bike path.
This little beauty has a shiny black short smooth coat with cream/tan markings, a long tail, and an adorable face with tan eyebrows, tan/black shading on her slender muzzle, a black button nose, and super-sized large erect ears. Lowe's right eye is sky blue and her left eye is brown .. which gives her a unique unforgettable appearance.
Lowe posed like a Dog Fancy Magazine centerfold model when these first photos were taken on October 28, 2025 while she was enjoying sunshine and a cool autumn breeze in one of our outside kennel that afternoon.
Lowe appeared to get along with the dogs in adjacent kennels, and she was a pushover for attention from our photographer.
Lowe weighs 47.2 lbs.
In compliance with the Ohio Revised Code, Lowe was held for the mandatory three-day stray hold so that her family would have an opportunity to reclaim her with proof of ownership. Surprisingly nobody called or came looking for this awesome girl.
Lowe was spayed on November 17, 2025 and was also given rabies vaccine.
Lowe went home with a foster family on November 21, 2025 who plans to adopt her if all goes well.
Unfortunately Lowe was returned by her foster family on December 13, 2025 who were saddened to bring her back since they loved her dearly. As it turned out, Lowe displayed a strong prey drive and though the family had worked with Lowe each day, she became a threat to the safety of the family's herd of sheep.
Lowe was good with indoor cats, children, and other dogs .. And she was housetrained. Her foster family also reported that Lowe was very intelligent, responsive, affectionate, and playful.
We are thankful that her foster family provided this detailed information about Lowe which will help her find the perfect home.
