My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

How this pet arrived:
Daryl was brought in by our Humane Law Enforcement team on Sept. 24, 2025.

Why this pet is the one for you:
Meet Daryl, a sweet kitty searching for his loving family. He can be a little shy with new faces, but with a bit of patience and his favorite crunchy treats, he'll be asking for pets in no time. While he enjoys relaxing in cozy spaces, he's also up for playtime - especially if wand toys are involved. Daryl's gentle nature makes him a perfect fit for a calm household where he can reveal his affectionate purrsonality at his own pace. Adopting Daryl is sure to fill your home and heart with love and peaceful companionship!

At SDHS:
Daryl has been vaccinated, microchipped and spayed. Daryl is now ready for his new home!

More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
