My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Marley is a DNA tested Australian Shepherd American Staffordshire terrier mix with an estimated birthday of February 8th 2024. She came to the Mission when her prior family was no longer able to take care of her.

Marley is crate trained, leash trained, and rides fine in the car. She is somewhat socially awkward but good with other dogs, and to safe with children who can take a little bit of bumping around.

She has an adorable stub tail and a lot of energy and athletic ability. She would love a family who wants to keep her included in the day to day activities of life and take her to do fun things like hiking and biking.

Marley comes spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, and dewormd. Her adoption fee is $200 and includes her leash, collar, ID tag, harness, a sample of the food she has been eating and her medical records. Adopters in the Spokane area can expect to meet the pet during the homecheck. Others will arrange a meet and greet.

Once your application has been received, we will evaluate it as a potential match for the given animal and, if your application is selected, we will proceed to call your references and then conclude with a home check and meet and greet scheduled by you at your home. For applicants out of area, the home check may be conducted via video call before the meet and greet.

More about this rescue

From the day we could talk we told our pets more than we ever told our parents. We took the long route to see the kitty in the window down the street. We stopped even when we were late to pet the dog. We grew up and we saw what the world does to those who can't defend themselves. We are here to change that.

Ethical rescue, including fully vetting every animal and carefully placing them all into homes matched to their physical and mental needs is what we do.

Respecting all life, both animal and human, while retaining an underlying goal of keeping animals in their homes. and fostering a sense of community between local shelters and rescues is how we do it.
