My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

DORIS ~~ Spayed Female, Senior Pet, White and Black, Domestic Longhair, 5.9lbs, DOB: 10/12/2017

Do you have space in your heart and home for a petite, longhaired senior kitty? Doris was found running loose and had a couple of wounds (on her back and front paw) that have been treated and have healed. She is up to date on her vaccines, vet services, bloodwork, is spayed and has been microchipped. Doris does not seem to be able to hear but that does not slow her down one bit. She loves to take naps in sunny spots.

Doris requests a large window so she can watch the wildlife, some comfy beds to snooze in, and someone to love and be loved by. Her needs are simple and she has so much love to give in return!

ABOUT ME: Doris is very curious and loves to explore her surroundings, is very cuddly and enjoys being held and fussed over. She is a petite little white and black girl with gorgeous green eyes.

Doris is eligible for our Seniors for Seniors Adoption Program. If a Senior Citizen adopts Doris, we will waive her adoption fee completely and will offer them a 20% discount on all future vet services, vaccines, foods, etc. We are offering discounted adoption fees on all pets one year or older through January 2, 2026. Her adoption fee is $75 and she will come home with one month of Feline Revolution Plus (for heartworms, fleas, ticks, intestinal parasites and ear mites).

If you are interested in meeting Doris, visit her at Crabapple Knoll Vet Clinic, 12604 Crabapple Road, Alpharetta, GA. 770.475.8272. Monday to Friday 630AM to 7PM. Saturday and Sunday 8AM to 4PM. We are closed on all major holidays. Please visit at least two hours prior to closing. All adoptions are on a first-come, first-served basis.

Additional adoption info

Our goal is to find good homes for all of the sick and injured pets we have, and to adopt them out in the best health possible. Each pet is fully vetted and cared for by our amazing Veterinary Staff! Our adoption fee is $130, which includes a spay or neuter, age appropriate vaccines, and a microchip. We offer a two week trial period, during which time you may return the pet for a full refund if the placement does not work out. We will accept a pet back after two weeks, but no refund will be issued. If a pet is returned after a longer time period we may require a $130 relinquishment fee. We do not perform home visits or have any particular adoption requirements, such as fenced yard. We do, however, reserve the right to turn down potential adopters if we feel like it will not be in the best interest of the pet.

However, if a pet is labeled as being fostered, please call ahead so we can arrange to have the pet available for you.

More about this rescue

Our Stray Program began in 1988, with one dog named Redman. He was rescued by a client who indicated that he had belonged to a homeless man. The man had since disappeared, and the red Chow was ill and now living on his own. We brought him to our Clinic and named him Redman. He tested heartworm positive, was treated for that condition and was also neutered. One of our Veterinarians fell in love and adopted him. Unfortunately, Redman did not live long due to heartworm disease, but enjoyed several great years with his new owner. It was because of Redman that our Stray Program for sick and injured animals came to fruition. We began a fund to support the Program and, since then, have found many sick and injured pets their forever homes! Thanks to Dr. Joe Gaston, we are able to continue our work to help sick and injured strays, and have the opportunity to give back to our pet community!
