My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

My name is Oscar and I have been through a horrifying event that involved me and my owner! My owner had hit upon some hard times and we were living on the streets. She had a shopping cart to carry her things in and it was also a way to keep up with me. I was tied to the shopping cart in the ditch beside the road when suddenly my owner was hit by a car. The police arrived along with paramedics and tended to my owner. She left in an ambulance and then the officers saw me waiting with the shopping cart. They called the shelter and a kind deputy came out to pick me up. The shelter has been caring for me making sure I was comfortable and well fed. We recently found out that my owner didn’t make it, so I am now looking for a new person to love. The kind folks at the shelter gave me all of my vaccinations, they tested me for heartworms and I am negative, they gave me a microchip, and they had me neutered. I am about eighteen months old. I know my “mom” is still watching over me and she will be so happy when I find a new home with a family that will love me as much as she did!

Additional adoption info

The placement of our adoptable animals into loving, caring homes and thereby enhancing the bond between animals and people is the primary goal of the Montgomery Humane Society Adoption Program. We focus on education so that every pet owner benefits from their contact with the shelter, whether or not they adopt an animal from us. Matching the needs of the animal and the potential owner, as well as educating potential owners about responsible pet ownership, helps to ensure successful pet placements of shelter animals.
