My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

What my friends at ACC say about me:

My history is a mystery and my friends here do not know much about me yet!

It is unknown if I have ever lived with other animals or children.

I don't always like to share my food, toys or bedding with other animals.

I would do best in a home without very tiny humans, although I could be open to older human children once I meet them.

I am playful and cute!

A volunteer writes: Vermy ❤️ Each time I've taken Vermy on a walk, he's been laying on a crate desperately trying to get my attention. With a full shelter, I've walked by him dozens of times and heard his cries and they break my heart more than normal. This utterly gorgeous dog peeking out at me from the bottom of a covered crate, waiting for his turn. When he comes out he's stressed, understandably. Almost 50lbs, he lived for several weeks in a crate as the shelter continues to battle the same overpopulation we are seeing across the country. He walks with me though, and this past weekend settled on a ledge to share some snacks and watch people pass by. He's sometimes affectionate, but unsure, and I wonder what he's like in a real home when he's had the chance to relax.

Vermy was found in a car with a cracked window. The finder thought he may have been there for several days. Now he's more safely in the shelter, but he's made it clear that it's stressful for him there. I hope his next step is a quiet home that allows him to decompress and then shine like the gorgeous star he is.
