My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

Hatch Date: April 2025

Jack Frost (blue body & white feathes) and Cado (avocado green) are siblings looking for a home with plenty of sunshine and comfortable space where they can sing when they please.

They are two of the cutest budgies who are super eager and excited to make friends with you.  They love to eat seeds for breakfast and have a millet or two for snacks throughout the day.  They are curious about their surroundings and looking to explore.  They do eat millet out of their foster dad's hands and enjoy it.  They also respond with their chirping when they hear people talking near their cage.

They constantly make escape attempts out of their cage, but aren't yet very skilled at it.  Cado lo ves to ring the bell while Jack Frost loves to admire his feathers in the mirror.

The pair has been tested for Chlamydia, PBFD and Polyoma.  Jack Frost and Cado are being fostered in Belle Mead, NJ.  They will require an in-person visit before adoption. We   do not ship our birds.

For the Love of Birds is a network of dedicated foster homes throughout NJ and Eastern PA. As our adoptable birds are living in private volunteer homes, we only allow approved adopters to make the required visits. If interested in adopting Jack Frost and Cado, please visit our website ftlob.rescuegroups.org. Please read our adoption policies and fees and complete an adoption application.

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

The adoption procedure begins with completing an adoption application and returning it to us. We will check your references and then call you for a telephone interview. While we check your references, we will ask that you review an educational power point presentation. After your application is approved, it is our policy that you visit with the bird(s) three times to have multiple interactions with them and give you time to consider the adoption and get ready for your new family member. There is an adoption fee for each bird.
