My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Izzy, a 4-year-old female pup with a fun-loving spirit and just the right amount of spunk!

At only 35 lbs, she's a great size for a variety of living situations-including apartments-but don't let her small frame fool you. Izzy is an active girl who would love a home where she can go on walks, jogs, or have some mental enrichment to keep her busy.

During her first doggie playgroup, she was a little snarky at the fence, but once she was in the yard, her shy and sweet side shown through. She's a bit submissive at first, but she's already shown she can juggle playing with two dogs at once!

With medium energy, a love for treats (which she takes gently), and a solid "sit" already in her toolkit, Izzy is smart, food-motivated, and ready to keep learning. If you're looking for a fun, trainable, and perfectly portable companion to join you on life's outings, Izzy is your girl!

Although she is heartworm positive, it is treatable and not contagious. Friends of Wake County Animal Center has provided a $600 sponsorship to help cover the cost of treatment.

If you're interested in learning more about her, please reach out to our volunteer matchmakers at wcac.matchmaker@gmail.com with the subject line "Izzy 260419".

She is up to date on vaccinations, flea/tick, and heartworm prevention, is microchipped, and will be spayed prior to going home. If you have dogs or cats, we recommend slow introductions over time. If you have children in your home, we recommend supervision between animals and children at all times.
