My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Kane was found as a stray on the savage streets of San Antonio, Texas and landed at San Antonio Animal Care Services. As the fate of too many, Kane quickly landed on the euthanasia list. Kane is one of the lucky ones who was saved! You can continue this boys happily ever after.

Kane is a good boy that lives for adventure and play! He is a very gentle boy that is happy just being with his favorite person. Kane thrives on routine.

Kane's ideal home would be an active home with other dogs or a dog park nearby.

We think Kane might be a Hound mix possibly with some Doberman in him.

Boarding report card notes: "Kane is doing good. Human affection driven. Knows sit and wait possibly others. Medium to high energy. Potty trained."

Leash trained: Pulls on a leash, but is working on it

Kennel trained: Yes, but can howl sometimes

Potty trained: Yes

Could live in apartment: Yes

Jumps: Yes, but is working on it

Separation anxiety: No

Barks: Yes, when he wants attention but quiet when out of kennel

Chews: No

Good in the car: Absolutely

Chase and Fetch: Unsure

Kane is currently living in a foster home in San Antonio, Texas, waiting for a committed foster or adopter to invite him up and into their Colorado home.

Red Fern Animal Rescue offers a two week foster to adopt trial in your home before finalizing the adoption to ensure the animal is the right fit for you, everyone in the home, human & animal, and vice versa.

Red Fern Animal Rescue is a 501(c)(3) non-profit foster-based animal rescue in Denver that saves animals from abandonment and neglect in South Texas for new lives in Colorado. We primarily rescue dogs off the streets and from kill shelters in San Antonio.
