My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Ninja is an 8-year-old cat who is having a very hard time adjusting to the shelter after being surrendered when his family could no longer care for him. Having spent his life as a beloved indoor-only cat, this sudden change has been overwhelming, and he is currently extremely scared and shut down in the shelter environment.

According to his previous family, Ninja has never bitten or scratched anyone and lived peacefully with their bulldog, even engaging in gentle play without things ever getting rough. This tells us that underneath his fear is a cat who knows how to live safely and kindly with both people and other animals.

Right now, Ninja is too frightened to allow handling, but with time, a quiet environment, and consistency, he has every chance to regain his confidence. A calm home or foster setting would give him the space he needs to feel safe again and show the gentle, well-mannered companion he once was.

Ninja is looking for a patient, understanding adopter or foster who can see past his fear and help him feel at home again.

This cat would greatly benefit from a foster home where they can continue to thrive and blossom. If you’re interested in fostering, please submit a foster application here: https://www.houstonhumane.org/volunteer/become-a-foster
