Meet Maray.

Don’t let that serious little face fool you—he’s concentrating and laserâ€‘focused on the tennis ball I had in my hand, fully convinced it was about to fly through the air and he was ready to retrieve it. Fetch isn’t just a game to Maray; it’s one of his greatest joys in life. Honestly, joy is what this boy is made of. Maray greets you like you’re his entire universe, every single time, with the same excitement and love he had the very first moment he met you. He is truly one of the happiest dogs you’ll ever meet. He’s so adorably handsome. His coat is a gorgeous, beautiful color, and his bright, soulful eyes have a way of grabbing your heart and not letting go. And his ridiculously cute face and sweet personality is quite magical that warms your heart because you are so in love with this boy.

Maray is playful, sweet, and full of personality. He loves attention, loves to learn, and loves to play. He’s a total fetch champion, he’ll bring the ball right back, drop it at your feet, and wait patiently for the next throw like the polite little gentleman he is. He’s smart, affectionate, great with other dogs, and bursting with love and life. At just 9 months old, this fabulous boy is ready to start his best chapter yet—with a family who adores him as much as he’ll adore them. Maray is truly the best boy!

LaMancha is open by appointment only to approved adoption applicants. The rescue is located on the grounds of a private residence therefore there are no visiting hours.

More about this rescue

Welcome to LaMancha Animal Rescue. Since 2005, we have been a qualified public charity under IRS section 501(c)3. LaMancha maintains a forty-five acre facility for rescuing dogs, cats, pigs, goats, horses, and the occasional exotic animal that requires more space or specialized knowledge than most SPCAs can offer.

We have two heated and air-conditioned kennels for dogs, each dog is housed in a run where they have indoor/outdoor access. There is a heated and air-conditioned building dedicated to cats, which is free range, no cages.

LaMancha is staffed primarily with volunteers, we currently have an active list of approximately two hundred. These volunteers care for the animals, exercise the dogs, either on walking trails, or large exercise fields. We try and take in the harder-to-place dogs, that wouldn’t have a good chance to be adopted in public shelters.

We have gained a reputation for saving and rehoming Pyrenean Mountain Dogs, known in North America as the Great Pyrenees. These large dogs are known for their gentle temperament as well as their independent streak. When you visit LaMancha, the famous “white dogs of LaMancha” are usually amongst the first to greet you.
