My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Sherri! This 38 pound, female, Pitbull is the most gentle soul you`ll ever meet. Sherri is the kind of pup who greets you with soft eyes and a wagging tail that says, “I’m so happy you’re here.” She’s affectionate, calm, and endlessly loyal, the kind of dog who will curl up beside you during movie nights and follow you around just to be close.

Whether it’s cuddling on the couch, going for leisurely walks, or simply sitting quietly by your side, Sherri is happiest when she’s with her people. She’s great with gentle guidance, loves treats, and is eager to please. Her sweet nature makes her a perfect companion for a loving home.

If you’re looking for a furry friend who will shower you with unconditional love and be your everyday sunshine, Sherri is your girl..

More about this rescue

Since 2006, we have operated Plano's first no-kill animal shelter. Our mission is to rescue at-risk cats and dogs from local municipal shelters.

We supply them with needed medical care, food, and shelter. Just as important, we provide all of our cats and dogs with the love and attention they deserve until they are placed into their forever homes. Come visit us and adopt your newest family member today! Everyone deserves a second chance.

Second Chance is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization. We are not affiliated with, nor do we receive any funding from, the SPCA of Texas, ASPCA, or any other humane organization. We do not receive any city, state, or federal funds.

Over the last 10 years, we've rescued over 3,200 dogs and cats who were slated for euthanasia at DFW municipal shelters and placed them with forever families.
