My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Calling all of our CH kitty lovers!!!!

Meet our beautiful girl Tipsy! She came to our rescue from a county shelter in rough shape. She was completely bald from mange and very neurologic and unable to get around. Over the last few months we have been nursing her back to health. She now has a full coat of hair and her neurologic status has improved significantly, but we believe that she has cerebellar hypoplasia so she will also be special needs.

Cerebellar Hypoplasia comes in a variety of degrees from mild tremors and a drunken gait to significant limitations where cats are unable to walk or stand and complete normal tasks. Tipsy is somewhere in the middle. While she cannot walk very well, she can stand and she gets around very well by scooting herself from place to place. She does have some mild head tremors that do become more significant when she is excited. Due to her mobility limitation, Tipsy cannot get in and out of a litter box so she is pee pad trained. She knows to go over to her pee pads very reliably.

Tipsy absolutely LOVES to be held. She starts purring instantly and would love to spend her day in your arms. Tipsy will thrive in a home that can understand her physical limitations, but is looking for an incredibly sweet and loving cat. She stills plays like a kitten and wants to be loved!

We believe Tipsy will do very well in a playpen or gated area when she is left alone so she can easily find her pee pads, food, and bed so she would be a perfect apartment kitty! She can certainly go to a home with other cats, but if there are dogs in the home, they will need to be laid back and very cat savvy since she will not be able to run and get away from a rambunctious dog.

If you would like to read more about cerebellar hypoplasia, here is a link to more information.

Tipsy is so deserving and we know her purrfect home is out there for her! If you are interested in adopting Tipsy or another one of our animals, please submit the application below and submit the $5 application fee. Please also take the time to review our adoption requirements including our vaccine and preventative requirements for existing pets in the home. If your pet is not up to date on veterinary care, we kindly ask that you have that completed prior to applying since we cannot hold any kittens.
