He was just a whisker away from a very different ending…
Whiskers was found on the streets before being brought to an overcrowded municipal shelter where he was scheduled to be euthanized. A good Samaritan stepped in and brought this handsome tuxedo cat with the long, white whiskers to EHS for a second chance. Whiskers is understandably nervous about all the new faces and changes. Don’t worry, sweet boy, you may have used up some of your nine lives, but you are going to get the happy ending you deserve.
ABOUT WHISKERS - At shelter - Whiskers is a skittish cat who appears to have had minimal experience with humans. - He is currently enrolled in EHS’s socialization program, where dedicated volunteers are working to help him become more comfortable around people. - Whiskers does not yet want to be handled by humans, and who could blame him after all he’s been through? He is making progress though, warming up to shelter volunteers and sitting calmly while he observes the activity around him. - He enjoys being pet with the back-scratcher on his forehead, and he has started leaning in for more. We can’t wait to see how Whiskers opens up after he’s had a chance to decompress! - Whiskers is neutered, microchipped, dewormed, flea-treated, SNAP-tested for FIV/FeLV, and is up to date on core vaccinations.
WHISKERS’ IDEAL HOME - Not much is known about Whiskers’ previous interactions with dogs and other cats. We will update his profile as we get to know him better. - Whiskers will benefit from a calm, quiet environment, preferably without small children. - Potential adopters should be prepared to commit the time, effort, and patience required to help Whiskers settle into his new environment. EHS will provide post-adoption support to assist Whiskers with a successful transition to his forever home.
Will you be the one to give Whiskers his safe place to land? Come by the shelter today and see those fabulous white whiskers for yourself!
