My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

**I'M CURRENTLY IN FOSTER CARE, BUT I'M STILL AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION! TO INQUIRE, PLEASE CONTACT THE ADOPTION CENTER. Email: adoptions@ivhsspca.org **

Approximate weight: 36 lbs.

Hi, I'm Rita1 I'm a sweetheart looking for my forever family. I'm currently in a loving foster home while I recover from surgery for a rough ear infection, but don't worry, I'm healing well and will be feeling perfect in no time. I'm a friendly girl who loves people, pets, and attention. I walk nicely on leash and don't react to other dogs or strangers. I'm also house-trained. I sleep soundly in my crate as long as I can see you nearby, as I get anxious when I feel alone. I am good on car rides. I do well when meeting new people. I'm still learning my basic commands. I don't know many yet, but I'm extremely food-motivated, eager to please, and already working on "sit" with hand signals. Training me will be fun and rewarding, and I promise to try my best. When I'm not snuggling up right next to you (my favorite place to be!), I enjoy squeaky toys, chew bones, food treats, and a good midday burst of playful energy. I'm a loving, gentle girl with so much potential. I just need someone patient, kind, and ready to help me build my confidence so I can feel safe being alone. I mostly want what every dog wants: love, security, and a long, happy life with someone who believes in me. Could that someone be you?

More about this shelter

Established in 1949, the Inland Valley Humane Society & S.P.C.A. is a private, non-profit, full-access animal shelter dedicated to providing a safe refuge for animals in our community. Our mission to care for all animals is made possible by friends like you. Every day our dedicated staff ensures that every animal receives food, veterinary care and the attention they need until they can find a forever home. The Inland Valley Humane Society & SPCA is a private, 501c3 nonprofit organization and is supported by contributions, grants, bequests, proceeds from pet adoptions, pet licensing and fees for services.

With highly recognized investigative officers, IVHS answers the call of over 100 animals in need every day. With our community outreach programs we educate the public on local wildlife, proper pet care and how to be a responsible pet owner. Equally important is IVHS’s commitment to provide a mobile vaccination clinic, low-cost and no-cost spay and neuter programs for our communities.
