My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Rooster
This sweet 12-lb boy (about 1–2 years old) has tons of love to give and lots of energy!

 What he’s great at:
• He can sit and is learning fast
• Not food aggressive at all
• Total cuddle bug — loves sleeping in bed
• Follows you everywhere like a little shadow
• Has had zero accidents in the house
• Free-roams with my dog and does really well

 What he’s working on:
• Still learning not to jump on people
• Reacts to dogs he sees on walks — gets overstimulated and will bark aggressively
• Not a fan of the crate (lots of barking), so he’s currently not using one

Rooster is a loving, energetic young pup who would thrive in an active home with a yard. With some training and structure, he’ll make an amazing companion.

Let me know if you’d like to meet him!

Available dogs are met by pre-approved adopters ONLY after a match is made. The application is the first step. Please complete the adoption (or foster) application here: https://www.russellrescuetn.com/application-for-adoption/

More about this rescue

Russell Rescue is an all-volunteer 501(c)(3) dog rescue organization. It was started in 2008 by Mary Ruth Rogers of Columbia, TN. Our mission is to save and re-home unloved, abandoned and abused dogs, especially the Jack Russell terrier. Most of our dogs come from high kill shelters in Tennessee, and other nearby states.
