My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Foster/Foster to Adopter needed! Meet Jackson (aka Jack) – A Sweet German Shorthaired Pointer Looking for His Forever Family

Jack is a 9-year-old German Shorthaired Pointer with a heart full of love and a nose for adventure. Fully vetted and kennel trained, this gentle boy was recently surrendered to a vet clinic when his family could no longer care for him. Now he’s hoping for a second chance with a family who’ll love him for life.

Jack’s Ideal Home:
- A fenced yard to satisfy his hound instincts and give him space to explore
- A family—big or small—who will cherish his affectionate nature
- Other pets? No problem! Jack gets along beautifully with kids, cats, and other dogs
Whether you're looking for a loyal walking buddy or a playful companion, Jack is ready to fill that role with grace and gratitude.
Located in Madison, Georgia, Jack is waiting patiently for someone to see the amazing dog he is. Could that be you?
Interested in adopting or fostering Jack? Reach out today—and please share his story. You might be the reason he finds his happily ever after.

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

Adoption is a four part process.

Application: You will be required to submit general information along with personal and vet references.

Home visit: Potential adopters will receive a home visit by one of our members.

Meet -n- Greet: All family members (fur babies included) must meet the foster parent and pup they wish to adopt.

Here at Dirt Road Doggies Rescue, each adoption contribution is a flat rate per dog. We do not adjust this rate based on the "popularity" of a dog. We believe every dog is worthy of an owner that sees the value in them. Each adoption contribution is used to cover the expenses incurred for that dog and other dogs in our program.

Go meet their pets

Dirt Road Doggies Rescue, INC is located in the quaint town of Gillsville, in the foothills of the Georgia Mountains, just south of Gainesville. Our rescues are fostered in loving homes located in Hall, Jackson, and neighboring counties.

More about this rescue

We are a small canine rescue group located in Northeast Georgia that works tirelessly to rescue, rehabilitate, fully vet, and re-home faithful dogs that have been tossed out of cars onto rural roads. We are a registered, 501c3 tax deductible Non Profit Rescue and we are licensed by the Georgia Department of Agriculture

All dogs in our program have been previously reported to animal control to ensure they were not lost pups who had a family diligently looking for them. We do not turn a dog away due to breed, health concerns, or age. It is our goal to keep these dogs out of animal shelters, thus saving their lives and providing more time to the dogs already in shelters to find their forever family.
