Henry is a charming 5-year-old guinea pig with a gentle soul and a refined taste for peace and quiet. With his soft fur and thoughtful eyes, Henry has spent his years learning the art of lounging, nibbling veggies with flair, and mastering the perfect wheek.

Henry would prefer a home with an experienced guinea pig adopter who understands the nuances of guinea pig care and can appreciate his mature personality. He thrives in a calm environment and would prefer not to share his space with children under 10. While Henry may be a bit reserved at first, he warms up with patience and consistency. He’s not just a pet—he’s a companion with stories to tell (if you listen closely to his squeaks). If you’re ready to offer Henry the peaceful retirement he deserves, he’s ready to fill your home with quiet joy and the occasional enthusiastic popcorn. HSBV will only adopt Henry to a home without children, or children over 10 years old.

Come to our shelter during our business hours.

Our Adoption Center services are available for drop-in visitors, and our hours are Monday through Friday, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturdays and Sundays 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Questions? Call us at: (303) 442-4030, or email: adoptions@boulderhumane.org.

HSBV offers adoption holds for available animals both onsite at the shelter, or by phone (303) 442-4030 during business hours. You may place a 1st hold for a $30 non-refundable service fee to support the cost of care and administration of your hold.

The Humane Society of Boulder Valley (HSBV) is a trusted source for services and information related to companion animals in Boulder and Broomfield counties. Founded in 1902, HSBV is the longest-serving, continuously operating humane society in the state of Colorado! Today, we provide a safety net to animals in need in our community and beyond. Each year, HSBV impacts more than 16,000 animals, helping them find their new beginnings in the Boulder community or working to protect happy and healthy relationships, and supports thousands of existing pet-guardian relationships in our community through our Safety Net services.

Our open-admission, socially conscious shelter provides care to any animal who comes to our facility. Open seven days a week, HSBV readily accepts community animals as guardian surrenders, stray pets, and transferred animals. The Transfer program enables us to offer a greater variety of animals to our adoption clients. The placement rates of our Adoption program ensure our doors are open to thousands of transfer animals seeking placement from overcrowded and under-served shelters in our state and region.
