Monroe is a 10-year-old small Beagle mix with a soft spirit and a story that deserves the gentlest of endings. He was found wandering the side of a road in Monroe County, West Virginia, lost, alone, and without anyone coming to look for him. A kind local rescued him, and after serving his stray hold in the county (where no owner ever came for him and no shelter space was available), Monroe made his way here, still hopeful for his second chance.
Despite everything he’s been through, Monroe remains a quiet, sweet, and deeply endearing little soul. During his time in foster, he lived nicely with other dogs and did well in a crate. He asks for very little, just kindness, a soft place to rest, and someone to love him.
Monroe doesn’t need a lot of excitement. He simply wants a warm bed, a gentle routine, and a person or family who will cherish him for the rest of his days. He’s the kind of dog who makes you slow down, breathe, and remember what love is supposed to feel like.
